Bridge to Basel

I was a finalist and part of the ‘22/’23 cohort for the Bridge to Basel Competition created by The Fashion For All Foundation. This exhibition proposal was my capstone project.

Concept

“My freedom comes from within” - Virgil Abloh. Immediately upon returning from Miami, I read Abloh-isms and wrote this quote down in my notebook, and continued to return to it. This speaks to what I learned about myself during the trip. All the power and creativity you need is already within you. The key to unlocking your highest potential is inner healing and peace. I want to use creativity to inspire people to continue to look deep inside their soul to unlock their true selves.

This led to the selection of art and artists who deal with narratives around introspection and emotions. All the work chosen speaks to me or directly to my experiences. This exhibition is an example of what it would look like for me to leverage the relationships I made with artists and how I can translate my unique curatorial eye.
