ARTIST | CURATOR | ART DIRECTOR
Cedric Alexander Thurman is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and art director from the South Side of Chicago. Thurman’s creative practice encompasses a broad spectrum of mediums such as painting, photography, film, fashion, and design. A career in advertising led Thurman to his painting practice that explores the abstraction of Black experiences and emotions, investigating ancestral creativity’s impact on contemporary artists practices, and how our spatial environments dictate our creative output.
“I can't be a singular expression of myself
There's too many parts, too many spaces
Too many manifestations” - Solange
